At present, the government holds 80 per cent of the equity capital in SCI; with planned divestment, this will come down to around 65 per cent. The SCI operates in all areas of shipping, catering to both national and international trade. The company operates a network of global liner services from India to Japan, UK, US, Canada, South Africa and other countries.
