Professor and Dean, School of Liberal Studies
Job Description:
BML Munjal University (BMU), announces the position of Professor and Dean in the newly established School of Liberal Studies (SoLS). We welcome Expressions of Interest from (or nominations of) academic leaders and senior faculty within the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences who have established academic credentials, excellent leadership skills, a demonstrated commitment to institution-building and experience in interdisciplinary research and teaching. The Dean will have the unique opportunity to shape the School by building and leading an already growing pool of excellent founding faculty from leading international and national institutions. The Dean will be part of the leadership team of the University.
The School offers a four year BA (Hons) Liberal Arts programme, and will soon be offering postgraduate and doctoral programmes. SoLS is anchored in a commitment to active learning and student-driven inquiry, and aims to equip all students, regardless of their professional trajectory, with interdisciplinary tools they need to engage meaningfully with the world around them. The University seeks Expressions of Interest from committed educators who will contribute to this mission through their research, teaching, institution building and thought leadership.
Preferred Qualification & Experience:
- Exceptional achievements in research and academic publishing.
- A PhD in the Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences.
- Experience of working in innovative academic environments and best pedagogical practices in higher education.
- Leadership experience, preferably in academia (however, appropriate leadership experience outside of an academic institution will also be considered).
- (For candidates outside India) Eager to live and work in India long-term. The university will facilitate relocation to India.
