Land Reforms in Karnataka

Tenancy reforms in Karnataka have not made a substantive dent in the skewed land distribution pattern in the state, and the surplus area distributed to the landless has been rather small. Further reforms are needed, especially with regard to updating the record of rights to determine landholding patterns and identifying surplus lands.
