Onthe one hand, Ugandan opposition to Amin, both internal and in exile, was activated. Besides the pro-Obote guerillas who had trained for years, many new ones now began to join battle with the Amin troops. Chief among these were the guerillas of the Save Uganda Movement (SUM) and the Front for National Salvation (FRONASA). The organised opposition began to assume a national character.
