This is with reference to the article “Traditional Knowledge and Conservation” (EPW, 23 May 2009) by Madegowda C. I am glad that the article has brought out the conservation tradition of the Soliga tribes in Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple (BRT) Hills of Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka.
