Among the new developmental and promotional schemes introduced during the year was a specially tailored scheme for the fishing industry in the coastal areas of the State and Goa, whereby assistance is given for the acquisition of hull, marine engine and accessories on a margin of 25 per cent with a maximum repayment period of 10 years. In collaboration with Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank, a long range financing scheme has been started for cooperative estates under which one industrial estate was financed during the year. The Corporation undertook spon soring small industrial concerns for grant of foreign currency loans (generally from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakhs) by ICICI for import of capital equipment Also, a new scheme has been introduced whereby assistance is given to clients in securing their working capital requirements from banks.
