International Politics of Climate Change Ambuj Sagar Milind Kandlikar In the build-up to the ongoing third Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Kyoto, it is evident that the real battles over climate change are being fought over issues of trade and national competitiveness in the context of greenhouse policies. For countries of the south, building appropriate scientific and economic assessment capacity may be the most critical task.
