Why Ban High Dose EP Drugs

A Correspondent Medically and socially there is every reason to ban high dose oestrogen-progesterone drugs. These drugs, which are easily available over the counter, are widely misused with negative consequences for fetuses accidentally exposed to them. Moreover, these products have no role to play in medical practice.

Tea Plantation Workers Another Farce of a Wage Rise

Under the three-year wage agreement recently accepted by the Co-ordination Committee of Tea Plantation Workers, 1,80,000 permanent and half that number of temporary tea plantation workers in two of the three tea-growing regions of West Bengal will be paid Rs 13.50 per day or less than even the wage rate for agricultural labourers.
