Short-changing the Displaced

The new rehabilitation policy removes all constraints on the government's responsibility to provide agricultural land or replace the livelihoods of those displaced by large projects, and is meant to ensure the large-scale transfer of lands to private companies and corporate bodies. The policy will be the means to legitimise this resource alienation and to strengthen corporate control over land.
