Trade Union Influence in Elections-A Case Study

A C Nanda This paper is about the voting behaviour of a community of mill workers during the 1967 General Elections. The neighbourhood has been a hotbed of political work and union activity during the last three decades. It is considered a stronghold of the communist union. Most of the residents always voted Left in previous elections. However, in the 1967 elections, the majority of votes in the community went against the declared union policy.
