Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS)

The Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) was established in July 2004 as an autonomous research institute at the National University of Singapore. It is dedicated to research on contemporary South Asia. It seeks to promote understanding of this vital region of the world, and to communicate knowledge and insights about it to policymakers, the business community, academia and civil society, in Singapore and beyond.

ISAS currently has vacancies in the following research areas:

a) Political Economy of Development in South Asia; and b) Trade and Economics relating to South Asia and the World.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in International Economic Relations, International Trade or Political Economy of Development.
  • Strong theoretical and empirical grounding in South Asian politics and development.
  • Significant academic publications in the abovementioned fields.

The appointment level will commensurate with academic qualifications and experience.
